INTENDED USE

Rapid test for detection of Ebola virus antibodies is an in vitro immunoassay for the qualitative determination of Ebola virus antibodies in human serum or plasma in one step. It is for diagnosis of early infection and epidemic survey.

 

PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY

This device is used of GICA double antigen sandwich method, The Ebola antigen conjugated to the colloidal gold is coupled on the label pad, to detect Ebola virus antibodies in serum or plasma.. When testing positive samples, Ebola virus antibodies in serum or plasma is bound with Ebola antigen which coupled with colloidal gold (IL-NP-Ag) ,immune complexes is formed, These complexes move on the nitrocellulose membrane by capillary action toward the test line region, and react with Ebola antigen (GST-NP-Ag) forming "Au-Ebola-Ag-Ebola-Ab-Ebola-Ag" to produce a pink color on the membrane. The remaining Ebola antigen which coupled with colloidal gold bound with rabbit anti-Ebola-Ab at control line produce a pink color on the membrane, when detecting negative samples, there no Ebola virus antibody in serum or plasma, immune complexes can't be formed, only the control line will be visible.

 

SPECIMEN COLLECTION

ASSAY PROCEDURE

Procedure:

1. Bring Membrane Plate and samples to room temperature (20-30°C) before use (approximately 30 minutes).
2. Remove the test cassette from the sealed foil pouch and place the plate on flat desk.
3. Deliver 1 drops (50 μL) of the specimen to the sample well/sample pad.
4. Then add 50 μL of sample dilution immediately.
5. Read the result between 15-20 minutes. A strong positive sample may show result earlier.

Limitation

The testing is for qualitative and assistant diagnosis. Confirmation of infection should refer to the clinical and other diagnosis.
