Description :

Composition: Each unit contains 90 mg Policresulen.

Generated by poly-condensation of m-cresol sulfonic acid with formaldehyde.

Excipients: polyethylene glycol 1500, polyethylene glycol 4000.

Indications and Usage :

Treatment of cervical erosion, cervicitis, and other inflammation or infection and tissue damage of vagina and cervix (eg, discharge due to bacterial, trichomonal and fungal infections, pressure sores from pessaries), condylomata acuminate, pruritus of vulva, etc. Protuberance of cervical mucosa (cervical ectopia).

Dosage and Administration

1 vaginal ovule should be used every 2nd day. If policresulen concentrate has been used, 1 vaginal ovule should be

introduced into the vagina every 2nd day during intervals between cauterizations. To facilitate its introduction, the ovule may be moistened with water and then, preferably with the patient in the supine position, introduced deep into the vagina.

A nighttime application of the vaginal ovules is the most practical. The additional use of a sanitary towel avoids the soiling of clothing and bedding.
